Biden’s ID Checked at Democrat Rally
Democrat VP hopeful Joe Biden missed a scheduled campaign appearance Sunday afternoon after his own security team detained him for positive identification.
The incident is the latest blow to Biden, who was recently named “The least memorable person of the 2008 presidential election.”
“It was simply a misunderstanding,” Biden said on his official website, www.not-barack-obama-but-the-guy-who-is-in-pictures-with-him.com. “I didn’t have any identification other than my driver’s license, social security card, birth certificate, tax returns and a sticker that said ‘Hello, my name is Joe Biden.’”
The rally went on as scheduled. Even though Biden was billed as the keynote speaker, nobody really seemed to notice his absence.
The national democratic party said no disciplinary action will be taken against the security guards.
“Honestly, any of us could have made that mistake,” a party spokesperson said. “Just last week Obama mistook Joe for a mail man.”
John Stevens, an off-duty Vermont highway patrolman who works as a campaign security guard, defended his team’s actions.
“He kept saying ‘I’m the vice presidential candidate and I’m supposed to be here,’” he said. “We kept joking with him, saying ‘Yeah, me too.’”
Guards released Biden after he showed them his picture on an Obama-Biden campaign sign.
“I guess none of us even noticed there was anybody else there (on the campaign material),” Stevens said.
Stevens and his associates aren’t alone. Recent polls indicate that 60 percent of registered voters don’t even know who Biden is; 32 percent said “his name sounds familiar” and 7.8 percent thought he played drums with The Grateful Dead in the late 1970′s.
Those who correctly identified him also said, “He’s my dad.”

He really IS my dad.
I wish.
Ha ha ha! He really IS the forgotten one! He needs a publicist to stir it up. LOL
